The Prime Minister’s recent confirmation that the first stage of the National Disability Scheme (NDIS) will be introduced by the middle of next year is extremely positive. It ain't a done deal yet, so we need to make sure that this happens.
The way people with disabilities are supported to live in their chosen communities is unfair and under resourced. The Productivity Commission proposed a National Disability Insurance Scheme to redress the inequities faced by people with disability.
