Person Centred Planning
There is evidence that PCP exists in Community Organisations
Person Centred Planning involves creating opportunities, utilising a range of techniques and facilitating opportunities for individuals to plan for themselves. In doing so, person centred planning practitioners need to consider how they bring together the key people in a person's life to on what the person sees as most important.
There is no doubt that community sector organisations have got the right values and the needs of the individual at the heart of what they do. Case management, care coordination, individual service planning are all part of the sector's person centred planning approach. But will this be enough for future users of human services? At Zakumi we believe we have the right value base, but need to expand our approaches in how we deliver person centred planning. A good mix of customer centred cultures that provides information access points and customer capacity building will help community organisations position themselves as the service of choice.
